Sioux Falls is located at the junction of I-29 and I-90 in the southeast corner of South Dakota, just a few miles from the Iowa and Minnesota border.

You can reach Sioux Falls from some of our neighboring cities such as Des Moines, Fargo, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Omaha, and Rapid City within a two and a half to six hour drive.

Sioux Falls is in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone. The western half of South Dakota is in the Mountain Time (MT) zone.

The Sioux Falls Regional Airport is serviced by five major airlines including American Airlines, Delta, United, Allegiant, and Frontier. There are a variety of direct flights into Sioux Falls from Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Clearwater/St. Petersburg, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix/Mesa, and more.

Travelers can get from the Sioux Falls Regional airport to downtown in five minutes.

Both Lyft and Uber are available in Sioux Falls, as well as a variety of taxi services and the city bus system, Sioux Area Metro. Electric scooter rentals, such as those from Bird and Lime, are not available.

Metered street parking must be paid 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday.
Public parking ramps and lots must be paid 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Good news: Falls Park is free to enter all year long, including the entrance to the five-story observation tower. You can explore the park for an entire afternoon if you would like. Guests are allowed into the park between the hours of 5am – midnight, with parking lots available on the east, north, and west areas of the park.

There are many shops and restaurants throughout Sioux Falls, including downtown, that are dog-friendly, just be sure to call ahead and verify. There are also several off-leash dog parks in Sioux Falls: Family Park, Lien Park, Spencer Park, Kirby Dog Park, and Pawsible Dog Park at Jacobson Plaza.

Perhaps you aren’t aware, but South Dakota is most commonly known for chislic when it comes to food. So what exactly is chislic? Traditionally, it is cubed pieces of lamb that is fried and topped with garlic salt, although it is sometimes served as steak cubes instead of lamb. Give it a try if you come across it on a menu. When in Rome, right?

Yes, there are three state parks within a 45-minute drive of Sioux Falls. Good Earth State Park, Newton Hills State Park, and Palisades State Park.

Bikes can be rented from a couple of different places including Nyberg’s Ace downtown location, Spoke-n-Sport, and Sioux Falls Bicycle Company.

For those looking to hold a large meeting, convention, or tradeshow we have a variety of facilities to meet your needs. Our largest space is the Sioux Falls Convention Center complex which is also connected to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center and the Sioux Falls Arena. Additional large options include The District, Best Western Plus Ramkota Exhibit Hall, Canopy by Hilton, and more.

We have a variety of facilities to suit your needs based on particular sports. The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is a 12,000 seat venue that can be used for basketball, volleyball, hockey and more. Additional sporting fields and facilities include Yankton Trail Park for soccer, Sherman Park, Harmodon Park, Sanford Diamonds, and Sioux Falls Stadium for softball and baseball, Scheels IcePlex for hockey, Howard Wood Field for football and track & field, and the Sanford Pentagon is a multi-use facility that can seat up to 3,200 people.
