Sweetman Planetarium

The Washington Pavilion unveiled its Sweetman Planetarium, one of the most advanced planetarium systems in the country. Enjoy watching mesmerizing programming such as stargazing, live space launches, and so much more.

Black Bear Exhibit

Last summer, the Great Plains Zoo reopened the newly renovated home for its three Black Bears: Charles, Jenny, and Marshmallow. The new habitat includes larger dens, new climbing structures, and updated landscaping, in addition to features for the bears to voluntarily participate in wellness and health checks, including a scale area to weigh the bears along with a sleeve for voluntary blood draws.

Pavilion Performance Series

The Washington Pavilion announced its 2023-24 Pavilion Performance Series which includes six Broadway shows from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. Buy a ticket to see one show or get a pass to see them all. Don't miss your chance to catch these great performances!

Linda Erickson Pickleball Complex

The Linda Erickson Pickleball Complex recently opened at the Avera on Louise Health Campus, featuring 12 courts, as well as a large parking lot and a public restroom for players.

Dave & Buster's

South Dakota's only Dave & Buster's is located at Lake Lorraine, a development on the west side of Sioux Falls that is home to shopping, dining, lodging, and entertainment. Dave & Buster's has become well-loved across the country for its style of meshing an arcade with a sports bar. Altered Species Ales

Sioux Falls has its newest craft beer bar... for now. Altered Species Ales has opened first as a craft beer bar with plans to transition into a brewery in 2024. In the meantime, enjoy a pint or two of local craft beer during your visit.

Myrtle's Fur Vault & Bar

The owners of downtown fine-dining establishment, Parker's Bistro, have opened Myrtle's Fur Vault & Bar as an adjacent space to Parker's. Enjoy a delicious meal and a handcrafted cocktail in this eclectic and intimate setting.

Maribella Ristorante

From the creators of R Wine Bar & Kitchen and Brix Wine Bar, Maribella Ristorante is their latest venture. This new, upscale eatery in downtown Sioux Falls focuses on Northern Italian cuisine made up of pizzas, pasta dishes, and much more, including an extensive list of all Italian wines.

Plaza Azteca

Plaza Azteca, located on the southwest side of Sioux Falls, has quickly become a go-to spot for many people looking to for Latin cuisine. Roots of Brasil

Comfort Inn & Suites Sanford Sports Complex

A new 86-room Comfort Inn & Suites is coming to the Sanford Sports Complex. Expected to open at the end of 2023, this property will be a convenient location for those who are attending sporting events at the Sanford Sports Complex such as collegiate basketball games and youth softball tournaments.

Everhome Suites

Everhome Suites will be a 114-room extended stay hotel that features spacious rooms and comfortable amenities. This property is expected to open Spring 2024, also at the Sanford Sports Complex.

Canopy by Hilton

Canopy by Hilton will be a high-end boutique property that is expected to open in September of 2024 at the new Steel District development. This 216-room hotel will have onsite restaurants, convention space, and views of the Big Sioux River, as it will be within walking distance of Falls Park.
