The USS South Dakota was the most decorated battleship of World War II. It fought in every major naval battle in the Pacific from 1942-1945. The memorial is open daily May 1st through September 30th, 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Ship
Very interesting both inside and outside. The outside with the ghost shape of the ship. The inside with all the donated items and pictures from the community. Attendant very personable
Honor and remembrance of a mighty battleship
This appears to be a small museum but it is well designed to give a history of this mighty battleship. The photos and artifacts make history personable.
