Gizzae

Brian “Rocket” Rock and Gizzae are a longtime force in the Chicago reggae scene, known for high-energy performances and an authentic island-inspired sound. Rocket began performing professionally at age 12 in Dominica and later became the lead vocalist for The Swinging Stars before moving to New York City, where he co-founded Moja Nya and worked as a session musician on major projects including Born in the U.S.A. and Too Much Blood.

After relocating to Chicago, Rocket formed Gizzae, serving as lead vocalist, bassist, and songwriter. The group blends roots reggae with elements of soca, calypso, jazz, and rock, delivering a vibrant, modern take on island music.
