Writers Round is an intimate songwriter series showcasing standout regional artists and the stories that inspire their music.
The May Writers Round will feature three outstanding songwriters from across the region.
Ron Keel, a multi-million-selling singer/musician/songwriter/performer whose catalog includes three albums which charted in Billboard’s Hot 100, plus multiple movie soundtracks and guest appearances. As a songwriter, Ron has dozens of TV and film credits – major movies like “Men In Black II,” “Dolphin Tale,” “The Messengers” and many more – and his songs have been featured in hit TV shows like “X-Files,” “Desperate Housewives,” “The Simpsons,” “King Of The Hill,” “The Client,” “CMT Insider,” the Daytona 500 broadcast and many more.
Whiskey Rich, the stage name of Chris Reynolds, hails from the mountains of Sheridan, Wyoming, where his Western roots run deep and shape the heart of his music. Blending authentic storytelling with a wide range of moods, his songs can take you from a rowdy, beer-raising anthem to a soul-stirring ballad that hits where it hurts. Known for high-energy performances and feel-good vibes, Whiskey Rich delivers live shows that keep crowds coming back for more. He has shared the stage with notable artists including Tracy Byrd, Neal McCoy, Scotty McCreery, Sawyer Brown, Michael Ray, Tyler Farr, Granger Smith, Josh Abbott Band, Casey Donahew Band, and Blackhawk.
Nattie Jean, a singer-songwriter from North Dakota, known for her belting ability and being able to cover a wide variety of genres. She loves being able to collaborate with other artists and musicians, and surrounding herself with people that have the same passion and drive. Nattie has had the opportunity to be an opener on the main stage at ND Country Fest twice, opening for artists such as Jon Pardi, The Charlie Daniel’s Band, Travis Tritt, and Shenandoah and she was also one of the openers for The Your Town Tours, featuring Julia Cole and David Lee Murphy.
Together, these artists will share the stage, swapping songs and stories in a relaxed, acoustic setting that brings listeners closer to the music and the stories behind it. The show will be hosted by Dave Holly.
In lieu of a cover charge, attendees are encouraged to bring cash donations to benefit LifeScape, a nonprofit organization serving adults and children with disabilities in the South Dakota region whose mission is to empower people to live their best life.
Writers Round is presented by Crazy Poet Music Group, The Warehouse Recording Studio and Phil’s. Each session features a mix of Crazy Poet artists and other regional songwriters, giving audiences a fresh lineup every time. The series will continue roughly every six weeks with new combinations of artists and genres each round.
