Trapping Education

Have you always been interested in trapping but didn’t know where to start?

This Trapping Education Course is for beginners and novice trappers. The class will be presented by volunteer instructors Matt and Nancy Bennett from the South Dakota Trappers Association. Matt started trapping in 1978. Both Matt and Nancy have been members of the South Dakota Trappers Association since 1998 and are both currently directors of the SDTA.

They have trapped raccoons, mink, muskrat, weasel, coyote, fox,

badger and otter.

• Trap and Snare Identification along with Rules and

Regulations

• Trap preparation and Modification

• Reading the Sign, Landowner Permission and Trapping Ethics

• Fur handling and Marketing Furs

Age: 8 and up, youth with adult.
