T'ai Chi & Himalayan Singing Bowls Event

May 16
Monday, May 16 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Begin your evening with Kim Kersbergen's Qigong and T’ai Chi

Qigong and T’ai Chi are mind body practices that are helpful for improving balance, reducing stress, and encouraging a calm and mindful way of living. This class is an introduction to simple yet effective movements that are designed to relax the body and mind and bring awareness to breathing. The movements presented in class are no-impact to low-impact in nature and can be done at any fitness level.

Kim has been leading t’ai chi and qigong classes in the community for over 20 years. She has instructed classes for a range of ages and abilities. Her goal when she teaches is to help people be comfortable and confident while moving through the forms she presents.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. A light snack before class is helpful. Feel free to bring a water bottle too. In the event of bad weather, we will meet in the classroom.

Complete the calm with Deb Yoder's Himalayan Singing Bowls

Join Deb as she takes you on an aural journey with Himalayan Singing Bowls: an open air sound meditation honoring and amplifying the energy of the full moon. These bowls will fill your mind and soul with tonal vibrations that emanate from their surfaces. These vibrations resonate with the energy in your body, bringing both your physical body and your mind to a resting state.

The Himalayan Singing Bowls are made from bell metal bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, with the copper providing the resonance. Each bowl is tuned to a specific primary note, with several secondary notes becoming apparent as the bowls sing out. These tones encourage deep reflection as you give yourself over to the meditative stream. This experience is naturally healing and mindful; a soul's night out.

Deb has been practicing sound meditation since 2014. Much of her work is done in the medical community but she especially enjoys the opportunity to get outside and bring the sounds of the Himalayans into nature.

In the event of bad weather, we will meet in the classroom.
