Seven Art Movements: A Tactile Exhibition | Gallery Reception
Unlike a traditional museum setting, this accessible art exhibition invites visitors to experience art through touch and sound. Guests are encouraged to gently explore raised surfaces, shapes and textures using both hands while listening to audio descriptions through provided headphones. Touch-activated sensors are embedded throughout each piece to offer additional insight into the artwork. Presented by Tactile Images in collaboration with the National Federation of the Blind, this interactive museum experience removes barriers for blind and low-vision visitors in a predominantly sighted world. By combining tactile printing, braille text and audio narration, the exhibition creates a multisensory way to engage with art history.
