Clay County Grown: Bus Tour

Spend your Sunday afternoon on an air conditioned bus ride to visit two farms in Clay County. Enjoy learning and sampling from two farms who are working to assure their families & communities have locally grown food.

Our first stop will be at Prairie Moon Herbs, where visitors will tour the field garden, say hello to the llamas, and then see the flower garden & fruit trees. Prairie Moon Herbs offers tea blends, and visitors will be able to see where both tea and honey is processed on the farm.

The second stop will be at Stone's Throw Acres, a farm that brings the perspective of a beginning farmer growing and producing an array of foods including honey, fruits, and more while focusing on the 5 principles of soil health. In addition to sharing how healing the soil is making a difference on their farm, they will be showing how they keep bees naturally, started an orchard, and maintain a garden.

Both sites will provide a snack, and you may wish to bring a small cooler for purchases.

The bus will depart from School Bus Inc DBA SBI Charters, 5100 W 8th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57107 at 12:30, with pickup in Beresford at 1:00 available (Truck Town Plaza). From there it will spend at least one hour at each farm, returning to Sioux Falls by 6:00. Sioux Falls riders, please arrive by 12:20 to assure we are in Beresford at 1:00.

Youth are welcome, but will need to have a ticket purchased for their seat.
