The Washington Pavilion will host one of the world's most famous science gurus on May 2, 2024. Best known as the host of the PBS children’s show, Bill Nye “The Science Guy” will present an engaging and educational 45-minute presentation in the Mary W. Sommervold Hall. The event will also include an exclusive 45-minute question-and-answer session. Audience members can look forward to an inspiring conversation centered around a variety of science topics.
Engineer, comedian, author, inventor—audiences revere this good-natured Renaissance Man's infectious blend of humor, intellectual curiosity and devotion to solving some of the world's most complex challenges through science. Best known for his Emmy-winning run as "Bill Nye the Science Guy," he brings his love of science and flair for comedy to every appearance—deftly translating complex issues to help inspire audiences to engage with and improve our world. Nye speaks on a variety of topics during his presentation, many of which are mirrored in his books—including space and planetary science, climate change, environmental issues, current events in science and his extensive background in television and education. He has a relevant and inspiring message for people to be good stewards of our planet and science-engaged in today's world.
