Create New Memories with Your Special Someone

The winter cold doesn’t mean you have to go into hibernation. You and your significant other will find lots of things you can do together during a weekend in Sioux Falls. We’ve compiled some local, romantic date spots that are perfect for those brisk winter days and nights.

Romantic Daytime Hotspots

Great Bear Snow Tubing
Snow tubing isn’t just for kids. Laugh and holler as you make your way down the hill. If you snowboard or ski, you can do that here too! Then head into the lodge for a cup of hot cocoa to warm your hands and toes. Great Bear also has a fire pit you can huddle around every night of the ski season.

Tuthill Ice Skating and Sledding
If you don’t mind walking up the hill, you can sled down one of Sioux Falls most popular hills: Tuthill. It’s B.Y.O.Sled., but there are plenty of places you can purchase one in town. At the bottom of the hill, you’ll find a cozy warming house and ice skating rink. Rent skates for $3 and get a hot treat at the concession stand.

Monks Ale House
Sample beer to your heart’s content. Monks serves 50 beers on tap, both locally and nationally. Plus they’re always switching up their taps. It’s like a coffeehouse atmosphere, cozy and quaint, but exclusively for beer lovers. Try their unique apps and killer pizza too.

Fernson Brewing Taproom & Tours
One of the latest (and tastiest) local brew sensations to open in Sioux Falls, the local brewmasters at Fernson will make your visit a delight. Fernson does frequent tours during taproom hours. There is no need to make an appointment, just stop by! Also visit downtown taproom Fernson Downtown.

Romantic Nighttime Hotspots

Parker's Bistro
This restored historic building makes for an intimate romantic setting. Enjoy dinner by candlelight and fine cuisine made with locally sourced and organic ingredients. The drinks are just as exquisite as the food, too. So stay awhile.

Fuji Sushi and Hibachi Grill
If you’re looking to combine entertainment with dinner, Fuji Hibachi in central Sioux Falls has some talented trick chefs who cook up gourmet meats, rice, and veggies right before your eyes. The food and sake will be flying, and you’ll be sure get a meal prepared to order. If hibachi isn’t your thing, the sushi here is topnotch too.

Carnaval Brazilian Steakhouse
A bit exotic, and a lot of fun, tender meat cuts are served by sword to your table. And even though servers walk throughout the dining room with a plethora of meat choices, vegetarians and omnivores alike will enjoy their vast salad bar.

Eastway Bowl
A classic datenight scene, Eastway Bowl is a great venue to test your arm and aim accuracy. Some nights you can even catch supernova bowling action with special lighting effects and upbeat music. And if you enjoy karaoke, make your way to the bar inside the bowling center on Saturday evenings.

Stampede Hockey and Skyforce Basketball
Cheer on upandcoming athletes. Our pro basketball team is part of the Miami Heat’s NBA D-League, and they play at the state-of-the-art Sanford Pentagon. Or catch some ice hockey action at the Sioux Falls Stampede stomping grounds—the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. This Tier 1 junior ice hockey team plays the West Division of the USHL.

Paramount Studio Cocktails
Paramount is a classy, yet laidback joint with live music weekend nights. The food is also astounding. Order a signature cocktail or red wine to accompany a chocolate brownie soufflé and you won’t be disappointed.
