Denny Sanford PREMIER Center

College athletes, pros, and Olympians compete here. Hockey and basketball teams relish the opportunity to face their opponents in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center while up to 12,000 screaming fans (10,450 for hockey) cheer them on. We’ve hosted wrestling matches and bull-riders here, too. It’s also right next to an 8,000-seat arena, 243-room hotel, 10,000-seat track and field and football stadium, and 4,000-seat baseball stadium.

Sanford Sports Complex

A multitude of sports complexes occupy this one area of town. The Sanford Pentagon hosts regional, state, and national sporting events with nine basketball/volleyball courts, a featured court, eight locker rooms, three athletic training rooms, and more. Next door, the Scheels IcePlex draws hockey, ice skating, and curling with three full-size indoor rinks. The Sanford Fieldhouse indoor sports facility boasts professional-grade Field Turf® and amenities for training, soccer, baseball, softball, and football, and makes for a great place to train and host competitions. Huether Family Match Pointe Tennis Center has six side-by-side Championship Courts, and our SD Junior Football Fields feature nine fields, five of which are lit.

Harmodon Park & Sherman Park

Youth and adult baseball and softball teams love coming to Harmodon Park to play. With seven baseball fields and eight softball fields, you can host playoffs of massive size. Harmodon Park also has five batting cages for the team to warm up.

Sherman Park is also a prime spot to host a softball game. Located right next to the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum, it features nine agri-lime lighted softball fields for youth, collegiate, and adult play.

Yankton Trail Park

With 21 soccer fields and easy access from the highway and bike trails, Yankton Trail Park is a hotspot for invitational, regional, and state soccer tournaments. Next to our beautiful tree-lined river, it’s a scenic area for recreation, too.
